I had bought 1 for $14.99 and went back to get another one for $13.98. It charges my iPad and Samsung 4S at the same time to 100%, and it is left with spare charge.

Wouldn't it be just as easy to carry a spare charged battery and just swap out when your battery dies?
 
About the swappable batteries. Yes, if you have a smartphone that allows you to do that. Even the new Samsung S6 doesn't have this feature anymore.
