I do love both my jobs so I'm not complaining. Well, I only complain on two things: (1) locating cow and horse owners when their livestock breaks free and (2) determining bail and taking bail on inmates. Not that bail is hard, but for some reason I don't like it.
I tell you, I lived on a farm most of my life, and our cows never got loose. However, I live next to a farm now, and the cows and horses get out all the time. And where are the owners? I have no idea.
On the bail...sometimes it makes no sense to me. Last January me and my mom was arguing and it got physical, we never hit each other. Neither of us wanted to press charges, but they said since they came to the house, they had to arrest one of us. They took her. Her bail was 2,500. The same night, I left with my boyfriend at the time, he was abusive to begin with, but this time it was much worse. He sucker punched me while I had my 9 month old in my arms. I wound up with a broken nose, two broke teeth...I had to have surgery later on. My son fell when I did, and bumped his head on the table. He had to spend the night in the hospital. After picking me up, he took my son and wouldnt give him back. He took me out of the house at 4 am with no shoes on, shorts and a tank top. I warned him to give me my son or I was calling the cops. apparently he didnt believe me. Mind you, I live an hour away, knew no one but him where I was at. but luckily as I was walking down the street, one of his neighbors seen all the blood, and called the cops. 15 cop cars was in his driveway within 5 minutes of the call going out. He was arrested for kidnapping, and domestic assault. His bond was only $500. So I guess I'm wondering, why is it larger in some counties than others?
Me and my mother went to court, the judge knows us both pretty well and threw the case out. However, I went to court in July over the situation with my ex. He got 6 months probation, 11/29 suspended sentence, and has to pay all my bills, along with fines, and 36 anger classes. Around here, its $20 a class. However, he's only taken 2 classes, not payed any of my bills, and now they are coming after me. Its very upsetting, and his probation officer wont violate him.
