"There's no question gas will hit $4 a gallon," Ben Brockwell, director of pricing at the Oil Price Information Service, said.

Oh man!

That is nuts! I am not leaving the house for any reason whatsoever...

This is such stupidity! The American people are being raped and still driving around gas guzzling SUV's. I think I am about ready for my hybrid. :car:

No offence to california people, but California is a big part of the the gas prices. They require so many different kinds of mixtures of gases that you couldn't even imagine. The people that make the gas have to conform to this and up the prices for all the extra work. Not to mention that half of the Gas prices are taxes.

We need to start drilling oil for ourselves.

What I don't understand is why the Consumer Price Index is not sensitive to gas prices? Are the commodities being hugely subsidized?

And how funny that some people I find everyday are still tailgating, red-light racing, etc.

there is plenty of oil in the reserves, if we werent to pump anymore oil, we would still have enough oil for the next 60 years.

Damnit! I need to to trade in my G35 for a hybrid now...

Man, I thought i had it bad here in NJ, where prices were like 2.65 for regular....I have been mistaken. greatly.

Thing is, they already have the gas in the storage tank & already paid for it. Now they are making more money on it.

And this is what I didn't understand either. When crude oil price increased, why the gas prices went up in a day or two. It would have taken weeks or months before the more expensive oil hits our gas stations. Bad bad business practices and they're tolerated.

I believe they have to raise the prices at the pump almost immediately in order to pay for the incomming gas at a higher price. You see the same effect when oil prices drop - prices at the pump drop immediately.

I for one hope prices hit $5 a gallon [/me ducks]. Might give the government and car makers a swift kick in the arse and accelerate alternative fuel development so we can be less dependent on oil and other country's supplying it.

We're moaning and groaning in California for $3.15 or so. Good luck to oyou guys!

Gas jumped up 43 cents a gallon yesterday where we live..... EEK!

Gas at my corner went from $2.77 to $3.55 in an afternoon!!

Time to warm up my new motor, a V-5 !!
AKA, the Shoe Leather Express
AKA, 10 Toe Transportation

And to think, I thought I made out great going to NJ on Sunday, where I filled up at $2.55 a gallon. My buddy says they are up to $3.10 a gallon, and the Turnpike (which can only raise their gas prices on Friday) has lines like mad!

And the worst part about it, even a $3.xx a gallon, there are a ton of gas stations around here that are SOLD OUT!!

how about now?

its like $3 for regular here.

and my friend borrowed my fuel container to get another 5 gallon when he had a chance for some cheap gas.. it was 2.75$ at costco today..
